About Rabbi Julie

As a Systems Change Artist, Rabbi and licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Julie works at the intersection of self, community and social systems. She brings warmth and wisdom to release the creative potential inherent in every system by listening, resourcing and supporting development. 

Julie has been immersed in social justice leadership for decades, working for racial, economic and gender justice on a livable planet. For fifteen years she was a founding member of POWER and then Director of its Climate Justice and Jobs work—hiring, training and supervising organizers, leading on strategic decision making and campaign design and engaging hundreds of volunteers. 

Julie has consulted widely with organizations facing growth challenges, conflict, strategic choices and changing landscapes. She has worked with organizations including Faith in Action, Bread and Roses, William Penn Foundation, Jewish Multiracial Network, The Nature Conservancy, 18Doors, NJ Presbyterian Church, Parents of the Philadelphia School, Council for Relationships, Clean Energy and Equity Fund, and more, and in coalition with Philly Thrive, Clean Air Council, Physicians for Social Responsibility, PennEnvironment, PennFuture, Sierra Club, and many others. To meet this moment, she is now offering her services to more individuals and organizations. 

Julie is the mother of five adult children and a member of a large kinship tribe. Her understanding of human and organizational development comes both from hands-on parenting and family life and also from extensive professional training. She draws on the latest teachings about organizational excellence, infused by spiritual wisdom, to help people, communities and the planet thrive. 

When she’s not engaged in intense strategy discussions or facilitating difficult conversations, you can often find Julie on the Pickleball court or walking in the woods with her three dogs. Rabbi Julie lives in Philadelphia and uses all pronouns.
