
Julie is the mother of five children and a member of a large kinship tribe. Her understanding of human development comes both from hands-on parenting and family life and also from extensive professional training. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, she works with many individuals, couples and families in her Counseling with Soul practice.
Julie is a Board Member of the Jewish Multiracial Network and is on the Rabbinic Council of Jewish Voice for Peace. She is co-founder of the Jewish feminist group Achyot Or and long-time member of sister group B’not Eysh. She was a Board Member of ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal for eight years and founder of ALEPH’s Jewish Renewal Life Center which she directed for twelve years.

Julie has been involved in Jewish education at every level and has presented at many national gatherings. Her passion for teaching is reflected in her mentoring of rabbinical students as well as in her own one –room-schoolhouse for children, House of Study.
